Louise Schöffel: "We want to continue our run"

ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga, 14th round, home game! That's the programme for the Violets on Saturday at 12:45 pm. Austria Vienna welcome direct league rivals Neulengbach, who are one place behind the Violet women in the table with three points less. In the first leg in October, the Violets were beaten 2-0 in Lower Austria and will be looking for revenge on Saturday. The players around defender Louise Schöffel know that it won't be easy: "I expect us to go into this game with 100 per cent focus. It definitely won't be an easy game, also because of the head-to-head clash. That's why it's all the more important that we continue to defend so strongly as a team and capitalise on our scoring opportunities."

Coach Stefan Kenesei has a similar view, as Neulengbach "especially in top games, always show the enormous will and quality to at least annoy, if not beat, every opponent in the league", such as in the cup against St. Pölten (1-3 a.e.t.) or most recently in the league against Altach (2-0).

"We want the home win"

But the Violets are also in impressive form, unbeaten in the spring and in ten competitive matches in total. "We've been able to gather a lot of confidence recently. In Linz, however, we recently realised that we have to be at 100 per cent and need a top performance against every team in the league", says Kenesei.

"It will be an exciting game and we clearly want this home win. We're on a good run and we want to keep it up", says Schöffel, looking forward to Saturday. Kenesei: "Our goal is clearly to take revenge for the 2-0 defeat in the first game and continue the positive trend. It will be a top match at a very high level."

As usual, season ticket holders enjoy free entry, with tickets available from 11:30 am on Saturday in the fan shop. The match will be played on pitch 2 behind the North Stand, with a food truck providing refreshments.
