Manfred Schmid takes a close look at Austria talents

Romeo Vucic (18), Enis Safin (17), Denis Dizdarevic (17), Timo Schmelzer (18), Florian Wustinger (18), and Philipp Klein (17) trained with the first team during the international break. For coach Manfred Schmid, one thing is clear: "We have enough talents, will keep inviting different players to training over time and accompany them in their development. It must be the future of Austria to develop young players from our own academy."

With Cem Sekerlioglu, U18 coach for many years, Manfred Schmid has an assistant coach by his side who knows every young Austria Wien player inside out. The coaching team regularly attends the games and training sessions of our academy teams. Now Wustinger, Schmelzer, Vucic (all Young Violets) as well as Safin, Dizdarevic and Klein (all U18) got the chance to prove their talent in training with Markus Suttner & Co:

"It's important to me to get to know our young talents even better and to get a personal picture. Each player has his own issues in which he still needs to get better. We are in close contact with the academy coaches," emphasizes Manfred Schmid.

"You can see that the work in our academy is very good" - Manfred Schmid

The positive impressions from the games and the information Manfred Schmid had received about the players in advance were confirmed in the training performances of the young Violets: "You can see that the work in our academy is very good. It's good for the young players to get a foothold in adult football as quickly as possible so that they can get used to the pace and intensity.
