‘I'm really happy to be back. Back in my home town, back at this club. Now I'm fully focused on the tasks ahead. Together, we want to give everything to be successful, and I can't wait to get started with the team. I'm really looking forward to wearing the violet jersey again and playing in front of these fans,’ says a beaming Manprit Sarkaria.

The attacking player started playing football at Donaufeld and later played for Großfeld before moving to the Austria Academy in 2013. In his first season, he finished third in the ÖFB Youth League with the violet U18s and also made his debut for the then Austria Amateurs in the Regionalliga Ost. The following year, Sarkaria continued to play mainly for the academy and finished as runner-up. From 2015/16 onwards, the dribbler had a permanent place in the Regionalliga Ost and two years later also played a key role in the Young Violets' promotion to the 2. Liga.

In autumn 2017, Sarkaria made his Bundesliga debut for the Veilchen, but continued to play increasingly for the Young Violets until autumn 2019. In October, he established himself in the Bundesliga squad and subsequently earned a place in the starting line-up. By the summer of 2021, Sarkaria had played 78 competitive matches for Austria Wien, scoring 14 goals.

From 2021/22, the cricket fan played for Sturm Graz and won the ÖFB Cup with the Styrians in 2023, including a brace and Man of the Match award in the final, as well as the national double in 2023/24.

In January 2025, Sarkaria decided to move to Shenzhen Peng City in China. Now he is back in Vienna. Manprit Sarkaria is back home!

Sporting director Manuel Ortlechner: ‘Mani is a child of Austria Wien and we are incredibly happy to have him back with us. Both he and we were keen to get this transfer done now in the summer. He has undisputed qualities that will benefit our attacking play and also make us more unpredictable. In every single conversation, it was and is clear how ambitious Mani is – he is more than ready and extremely hungry.’
