The Blue & Yellows from Döbling and the Violets from Favoriten met in summer temperatures. There were three changes to the starting XI compared to the 2-2 draw against Neulengbach last week: Florentina Satra, Antea Batarilo and Alisa Ziletkina started from the beginning - Stefanie Schneeberger, Jacqueline Hajek and Anna Schorn were on the bench for the time being.
The game did not start to the Violets' liking: After just over ten minutes, it was 1:0 in favour of Vienna. Claudia Wasser had the first chance after a cross, but her shot was blocked and bounced into the path of Loretta Nemeth, who slotted the ball home to make it 1-0 (12').
However, the Violets were not impressed and struck back immediately. Just a few minutes later, Verena Volkmer failed to score from a good position and Katharina Schiechtl headed in the equaliser from the resulting corner (16'). Everything was open again at Hohe Warte.
An injury-related break for Louise Schöffel caused a brief shock - but the defender was able to continue after brief treatment (23'). Just like on the pitch: A quickly played-out action via Dominique Bruinenberg to Volkmer, who finished just past the far corner (30'). Alisa Ziletkina also had the chance to take the lead, after a long ball from goalkeeper Larissa Haidner she tried to outpace the Döbling keeper, but was unsuccessful (35'). They went into half-time with the score at 1-1.
Both teams came out of the half without any changes. Defensively, Larissa Haidner had to deal with a well-taken free-kick (48'); the violet goalkeeper was on hand to make the save. Austria made their first substitutions after just under an hour: Vanessa Rauter and Jacqueline Hajek came on, while Alisa Ziletkina and Antea Batarilo saw their working day come to an end. Stefanie Schneeberger also came into the game, replacing Lea Mauly in their position (66').
Both teams went on to play for victory, but largely levelled each other out. The final quarter of an hour then became even more intense: Volkmer had another chance, but her header was too central (75'). The game went back and forth - but in the end it was Vienna who were celebrating: Nicole Ojukwu scored in the 87th minute to make it 2-1 for the Blue & Yellows. This brought the Violets' unbeaten run to an end after eleven matches.
Austria: Haidner - Schöffel, Schiechtl, Satra - Triendl (79' Schorn), Weilharter, Mauly (66' Schneeberger), Batarilo (60' Hajek) - Bruinnenberg - Volkmer, Ziletkina (60' Rauter)
