WAC celebrated a 1-0 win over Norwegian league leaders Molde FK away from home in the UEFA Europa Conference League playoff on Thursday, while Wolfsberg are on just two points in the championship after four rounds. The Veilchen want to follow up their first Bundesliga win of the season against WSG Tirol in Carinthia the previous week.

Manfred Schmid: "My team put in a very strong performance against Fenerbahçe. We showed our fans, who supported us sensationally, an Austria they can be proud of. Fenerbahçe made two goals out of three chances and showed efficiency. Our young players take a lot from a game like that. In the next two days we will regenerate well and prepare specifically for the game against WAC. I think Wolfsberg have been beaten below their value in the Bundesliga so far. We are going to Carinthia to increase our points tally, that is our goal. We showed in the win against Tirol that things are going in the right direction, we want to build on that."

Personnel update

Unfortunately, two Austrian players had to be replaced injured in the UEL playoff home game, with Florian Wustinger suspected to have torn his cruciate ligament. Muharem Huskovic took a knock, closer medical examinations will follow.
