The Violets' international journey begins on Wednesday. At 7 p.m., they will face Glasgow City at home in the Franz-Horr-Stadion. Over 2,000 fans are expected to attend the exciting match and support Austria Wien.

Austria and Glasgow off to a good start to the season

The Veilchen have had a good start to the new season, winning both the first round of the cup and their first two league games.

Glasgow City have also had a good start to the Scottish Women's Premier League, winning their last game 1-0. Unlike the violet women, Glasgow City already gained experience in the Women's Champions League in 2023/24 when they also took part in the qualifiers.

"Special match & special evening"

Head coach Stefan Kenesei is looking forward to this exciting and important game: "It's a very special match and hopefully it will be a very special evening. We have been working towards this match for a long time. The UWCL is a competition where every player in club football wants to play and prove themselves at some point – and we are no exception. We want to put on the best possible performance, even though we face a very difficult opponent in Glasgow tomorrow evening. But we are raring to go and the anticipation is very high."
