Breu (51) will take over the same responsibilities in Lithuania that he held before his move to Vienna in the summer of 2021.

Sports director Manuel Ortlechner: "Reinhold has informed us that he has a very interesting offer from Lithuania and that he would like to accept it. Although we would have liked to continue working with him, we also understand that he wants to turn over a new leaf. I see it positively and know that such a departure always brings with it the chance to set one or two new stimulus points."

Coach Manfred Schmid: "Reinhold was an integral part of our coaching team, he has done a good job in recent months and I wish him all the best in Lithuania. However, we are now already looking ahead again and already have very clear ideas about how we will fill the position. We will set the course for this during the winter break, but for now we are fully focused on the task on Sunday against LASK."

Breu and Schmid once played together for the Violets, as the German himself kicked for FK Austria Wien from July 1996 to December 1997. After his active career, he switched to coaching and trained Regensburg, Eintracht Trier and all of Luxembourg's junior national teams (U16, U17, U19 and U21). There he was also engaged as technical director for more than ten years. In June, he started at Austria Wien.
