Schmid: "Why not against LASK?"

Austria Wien is not the favorite going into the away game against LASK (Sunday, 2:30 p.m.), but the Violets still have confidence in themselves after the international break: "I have the feeling that the team has fully accepted the situation in the standings. Now it's up to us to prove that we don't belong down there. In training, the team was willing and ready to show that," emphasized the Austria coach.

Austria is last after six rounds and still waiting for the first win of the season, at the same time missing only four points to the fourth place. With six goals, Austria's offense fell short of its own expectations, which is why shot training was high on the list: "We trained our processes, rehearsed running routes and worked on precision in our game, especially in the zone in front of the opponent's goal," emphasized Manfred Schmid.

LASK also did not start the season as desired, with the Linz side two points ahead of Austria Wien in eighth place. The Upper Austrians have probably been beaten below their value so far: "LASK has a very good team and a wide squad. They will play their game to the hilt and go into the match as favorites," said Schmid, who nevertheless believes that his team has a chance of winning its first game of the season on Sunday:

"The way we played against the other top teams makes me feel positive." - Manfred Schmid

"The way we played against the other top teams makes me feel positive. We drew against Sturm and Rapid, and only narrowly lost to Salzburg. Why shouldn't we be able to take something from that against LASK as well?"
