More chances for Austria

After the break, Austria created the next scoring chances. Noah Ohio was successful on the counterattack and shot just over (57th). Manfred Fischer tried it with his head (60th). After more than an hour, coach Manfred Schmid made four changes. After Vesel Demaku had already come on at the break, Leo Ivkic, Christian Schoissengeyr, Florian Wustinger and Romeo Vucic were also given a chance.

As a result, the Violets had more chances. Manfred Fischer put the ball over the goal after a Jukic cross (72nd). Lukas Mühl hit the outside of the net from an acute angle and close range after Markus Suttner's free-kick cross (73). A shot from distance by Florian Wustinger was saved by Sochi goalkeeper Zabolotnyi (75.). On the opposite side, ex-Rapid defender Barac put a powerful shot just beside Patrick Pentz's goal (78.).

In the final phase, Manfred Schmid substituted Philipp Klein, Dario Kreiker and Csaba Mester. In the 90th minute, Mester almost scored the winning goal after a sharp cross from Markus Suttner, but the attacking player just missed the ball.
