Contract with Stefan Blažević extended

Austria Wien has extended Stefan Blažević's contract until summer 2029. The 19-year-old home-grown player is considered an up-and-coming goalkeeping talent and is expected to prove himself worthy of greater responsibilities with the Young Violets.

Blažević was born in Favoriten and moved from Favoritner AC to Austria at a young age. The goalkeeper played for all of the Veilchen's youth and academy teams and has won the ÖFB Youth League U16 and U18 championships in recent years. The 19-year-old is currently part of the Young Violets squad.

Stefan Blažević: ‘The contract extension means a lot to me. I grew up at this club and have lived in Favoriten my whole life. I therefore have a very special connection to Austria and trust the plan that those responsible have for me.’

Sporting CEO Tomas Zorn: ‘Stefan is a talented young goalkeeper who we believe has great potential for future development. In recent years, he has attracted attention with his consistently good performances and has already completed training sessions with the professionals. Now it's time for him to take the next steps in his development – which we will support in a targeted manner. We are therefore all the more delighted that we were able to convince him to continue his career at Austria Wien.’
