Violets challenged in Dornbirn

The 17th and penultimate matchday of the Admiral Women's Bundesliga is coming up. Part one of the Vorarlberg double starts for our Veilchen on Sunday with an away game at SPG FC Lustenau/FC Dornbirn, before the final game at home against SPG SCR Altach/FFC Vorderland.

The game kicks off at 10:30 am in the Sparkasse Arena Birkenwiese in Dornbirn. In the first leg, the Violets celebrated a 4-1 win against last year's promoted team, who secured their spot in the league for the coming season ahead of time thanks to a strong spring and moved towards the middle of the table.

After a very intense week with the cup final, Austria VIenna are still aiming to reach fourth place in the table, as coach Stefan Kenesei emphasises: "After three games in a week recently, we've now had enough time to regenerate and were able to prepare well for our opponents."

Kenesei: A top team awaits us

Of course, the head coach was not unaware that his opponents were particularly strong in the spring: "If you look at how Lustenau/Dornbirn have performed recently, we're playing against one of the top teams in the league. We'll have to be on our guard and take everything with us that has characterised us so far, especially in the second half of the season."

The Violets still want to take the three points home to Vienna. "It will be an exciting game with two teams at eye level. I hope we can build on last week's success against Bergheim". says Kenesei. ÖFB-TV will stream the game live.

The final match of this year's season will be against Altach/Vorderland the following week. The last home game in the Generali-Arena will take place on Sunday 26 May (12:45 pm).
