Winter preparations for the violets have begun

The Veilchen kicked off the new year on Tuesday afternoon with performance tests. After various tests, which the players completed over two days, they returned to the pitch for the first time in the early evening on Wednesday.

While most people were still enjoying their holidays, the Veilchen arrived at the Generali-Arena on Tuesday for their first training session after a relaxing winter break. First on the agenda were the performance tests. In the gym, counter movement jumps were performed, triple hops were tested and much more.

First training session in freezing temperatures

A day later, the team headed to the academy, where running tests awaited the Veilchen. The sprints and endurance test already demanded a lot of energy from the players, but the day was not over yet. Shortly before the last rays of sunshine disappeared on this freezing day, the team took to the artificial turf pitch to complete their first regular training session. In the bitter cold, head coach Stefan Kenesei's team began preparations for the spring season ahead of next week's first friendly against MTK Budapest.

"We are focusing on high-quality friendly opponents"

Head coach Stefan Kenesei: "We are starting our winter preparations with a clear focus. Due to the short preparation time, we are deliberately focusing on high-quality friendly opponents in order to quickly get up to competitive level. The intensity will be high right from the start, because we have a demanding phase ahead of us in February and we want to be optimally prepared for it."
