Numerous Veilchen on an international tour

Numerous Austria players will be in action for their national teams over the coming days. Vasilije Markovic has been named in the Austrian senior national team squad for the first time, whilst Taeseok Lee has been called up for South Korea. In addition, 19 young players from the Violets will represent Austria and four other nations at international level.

Particularly pleasing is Vasilije Marković’s first call-up to the Austrian senior national team. The 18-year-old Violets academy graduate has made the leap from the Austria Academy, via the Young Violets, to the first team and now has the chance to prove himself at the highest international level for the first time. Meanwhile, Taeseok Lee has once again been selected for the South Korean national team.

Violet are also strongly represented in the Austrian youth squads. With Patrick Gafencu, Valentin Haider, Alen Isić, Maximilian Klikovits, Guylain Mbau, Raphael Tiskaya and David Vilić, no fewer than seven Austria players have been nominated for the ÖFB’s U15 squad. Amar Mujkanović and Niklas Schöllerl are playing for the U16s, whilst Kayra Sahinbaz is in the U17 squad. The U18 national team has called up Bruno Jerabek, Constantin Zuschlag and Silas Schoppitsch, whilst Tomy Baotić and Hasan Deshishku are part of the Austrian U19 squad.

Other ‘Violet’ talents are representing their respective home countries: Noel Polonkai has been called up for Hungary’s U18s, and Barnabas Bugledits for the Hungarian U16s. Ali Karadas is on duty with the Turkish U17s, and Patrik Achberger with the Slovakian U15s. This means that, during the current international break, Austrian players are in action internationally from the U15s right up to the senior national teams.
