Manfred Schmid had to compensate for a number of absences at the start of the spring season, and in addition there were no newcomers in the 4-2-3-1 system due to a lack of playing rights. Patrick Pentz started in goal, Marvin Martins, Lukas Mühl, Johannes Handl and Markus Suttner formed the back four. In front of them, Eric Martel and Matthias Braunöder were designated for the defensive midfield. The offensive department consisted of Aleksandar Jukić, Alexander Grünwald and Manfred Fischer, who had been very strong in preparation, with Noah Ohio starting as a solo striker. Florian Wustinger and Dario Kreiker were in the Bundesliga squad for the first time.

At the opponent from Altach, the new coach Ludovic Magnin tried to get away from the last place in the table with three ex-Austrians. Tino Casali was in goal, Marco Meilinger and Christoph Monschein started in the offense.

Fischer and Ohio scored for the Violets!

Manfred Fischer had the first minor opportunity, but was decisively prevented from finishing by Manuel Thurnwald (6th). A little later, however, the former Altach player put the Violets in the lead. Matthias Braunöder brought the ball to the middle, Fischer scored ice-cold - 0-1 (16th). Only three minutes later, Austria increased the lead to 0-2. Eric Martel won the ball in midfield, Alex Grünwald forwarded quickly to Noah Ohio, who scored his third goal of the season with a powerful shot from 20 meters (19th).

After a cross from Aleksandar Jukić, Ohio had another good chance, but just missed the goal (28th). Eric Martel sent Jukić deep with a nice ball, but he failed to beat Tino Casali. After the subsequent corner - kicked by Braunöder - Martel shot at the Altach goalkeeper from point-blank range (32nd, 33rd). Alexander Grünwald had another top chance in the 38th minute, but did not hit the ball well enough. Manuel Thurnwald had Vorarlberg's first ever chance in stoppage time, but shot well over the goal.

Austria went into the break with a highly deserved lead.

Austria brought victory home safely

The game changed little after the break, with Austria continuing to set the tone. Casali cleared a Stanglpass from Aleksandar Jukić in the last moment before Noah Ohio (53rd). Jukić put a header after a cross from Markus suttner Altach had a chance through Gaudino, but the ball went over (65th).

After 69 minutes, Florian Wustinger came on for Alexander Grünwald, making his debut in the Bundesliga. Georg Teigl replaced goal scorer Ohio. Patrick Pentz had to intervene for the first time in the 83rd minute, Gaudino tried it twice from an acute angle, our goalkeeper was on the spot. Romeo Vucic came on for Aleksandar Jukić in the closing minutes, Florian Wustinger had the last chance of the game but failed to beat Casali (90th+2).
