No goals in the clash with WSG Tirol

In a match with few scoring opportunities, Austria Wien and WSG Tirol drew 0–0. The Veilchen family is concerned about Manprit Sarkaria, who had to be substituted due to a knee injury.

Dejan Radonjić started in place of Philipp Wiesinger, which was the only change head coach Stephan Helm made to his starting line-up. Noah Botić suffered a broken ankle and torn syndesmosis and medial ligaments in training on Wednesday. He will be out for six to nine months.

WSG Tirol celebrated a 3-2 win at Red Bull Salzburg last week, and coach Philipp Semlic also made just one change: Ademola Ola-Adebomi started in place of Matthäus Taferner, who was suspended after receiving a yellow-red card.

0–0 at half-time ...

The visitors from Wattens had the first chance of the game, with Jamie Lawrence heading over the bar (2'). Austria had a shot from Manfred Fischer, but it went wide (6'). After a nice switch of play from Johannes Eggestein, Reinhold Ranftl crossed to Kang Hee Lee, whose header went just wide (17').

The Tyroleans played an aggressive, high pressing game, which often caused problems for the Violets' defence. A shot from Nikolai Baden Frederiksen went wide, and Austria loanee Moritz Wels headed just over (22', 23'). A free kick from Baden Frederiksen also went wide of Samuel Şahin-Radlinger's goal (29').

Austria continued to struggle against a very confident Watten side, with a good cross from Manprit Sarkaria going past friend and foe alike (44'). The teams went into the break goalless.

... 0–0 at the end

At the start of the second half, Abubakr Barry had some space in the penalty area after a cross from Ranftl, but his shot went well over the goal (50'). At the other end, Şahin-Radlinger saved a shot from Johannes Naschberger (51').

Manprit Sarkaria injured his knee in a tackle with Benjamin Böckle and was replaced by Kelvin Boateng (66'). Fischer fell in the penalty area after a pass from Barry, but correctly no penalty was given (68'). Boateng played Ranftl free, whose cross was intercepted by Adam Stejskal in the Tyrolean goal (73'). The Violets were now playing much stronger towards the east stand.

Shortly before the end, Stephan Helm brought on Marko Raguž and Konstantin Aleksa to freshen up the attack, with Eggestein and Kang Hee Lee leaving the pitch. A shot from Tin Plavotić went wide of the goal (90'). In the end, it wasn't enough, and a game with few chances ended 0–0.
