Pentz, Schoissengeyr & Martins called up to senior teams

Austria Wien will see off several players to various national teams next week. In addition to Patrick Pentz (Austria), Marvin Martins (Luxembourg) and Christian Schoissengeyr (Dominican Republic) in the senior teams, Matthias Braunöder, Vesel Demaku and Can Keles (Austria U21) and Muharem Huskovic and Leonardo Ivkic (Austria U19) have also been called up to junior national teams. Others could follow.

The Austrian national team will face Wales in Cardiff on March 24 in a battle for a place in the final of the World Cup playoffs. Coach Franco Foda will be relying on the Violets' regular keeper Patrick Pentz in goal, among others. A test match is planned for March 29 at Ernst Happel Stadium, the opponent is still open.

Luxembourg will play a test match against Northern Ireland at home on March 25 and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in Zenica on March 29. Right-back Marvin Martins could make his 18th and 19th appearances for his home country.

Dominican team manager and former Wacker Innsbruck player Inaki Bea has called up Christian Schoissengeyr for the Dominican Republic's training course in Spain. Schoissengeyr has already played twelve games for Austria's U21s, but none for the country where he was born.

Important games for Austria U21 & U19

Keyword U21 national team: With Matthias Braunöder, Vesel Demaku and for the first time Can Keles, team manager Werner Gregoritsch nominated three Violets for the important games in the European Championship qualifiers in Croatia on March 25 and against Norway on March 29. Mathias Gindl, Niels Hahn and Aleksandar Jukic are on call-up.

Muharem Huskovic and Leonardo Ivkic have also played for the U21 team, but have now been re-nominated for the U19 national team. Martin Scherb's team will face hosts Spain and Denmark in the elite round, with only the top of the group qualifying for the European Championship in Slovakia. Lorenzo Coco, Sandali Conde and Romeo Vucic are on call-up.

Martel, Ohio & Pecar in large squads

Eric Martel is in the extended major squad of the German U21 national team for the European Championship qualifiers against Latvia (March 25) and Israel (March 29). Likewise, Martin Pecar could be called up by team manager Milenko Acimovic to the final squad of the Slovenian U21s, who will face Kosovo twice (March 25 & 29) in the European Championship qualifiers.

After the elite round of the Dutch U19 national team with Ukraine, Norway and Serbia was postponed to June due to the war in Ukraine, coach Bert Konterman's team is scheduled to play a test match against first division team NAC Breda (March 25). Striker Noah Ohio, who has already been nominated in advance for the large squad, will find out on March 18 whether he will be involved.
