Emotions ran high when the final whistle blew at the Franz Horr Stadium on Wednesday evening and the Violets were crowned the winners of the evening against Glasgow City. After the Scots, FC Minsk from Belarus now await the Violets on Saturday.
Like the clash against Glasgow City, Saturday's match will also take place at the Franz Horr Stadium. The clash is the last step before the third qualifying round. If the Violets can prevail here as well, they will advance to the Q3 of the UWCL. There will then be one more first leg and one more second leg before the best-case scenario is a place in the league phase of the competition. If they lose the final on Saturday, they would enter the second qualifying round of the European Cup.
As part of the supporting programme, there will once again be Soccerdarts before the decisive match, as well as a food truck in front of the North Stand, which will provide food and drink before and after the match. The kiosk in the stadium itself will be open again during the match. Admission is from 13:00. Tickets are available at fak.at/tickets and all fans with a season ticket are admitted free of charge.
Head coach Stefan Kenesei: "It's definitely the next highlight game and we want to go through to the next round, of course we're that confident. But we are very clear in our communication and preparation that it will be another very difficult task, just like on Wednesday. Of course, the game could go either way on Saturday. But we have worked out that we will definitely continue to play internationally, we will simply decide in which direction our bus continues to travel. Will it continue in the direction of the Champions League or will we switch to the European Cup?"
Elisa Pfattner: "We know that we can't underestimate any opponent, because we were actually underdogs in this qualifying round. But we've already proved that we can hold our own against Glasgow and even win. But that's exactly why we can't underestimate our opponents now. Because it's a knockout game and anything can happen. It simply depends on everyone giving 110%."
