On 3 December 2024, exactly 434 days later, the spark should ignite again at Viola Park. In a potential play-off match against Romania or Poland, players on the pitch and fans in the stands alike will be called upon to secure their long-awaited European Championship ticket.

First Slovenia, then the final at Viola Park

Before that, however, the two national team players from Austria Wien Gini Kirchberger and Kathi Schiechtl and their team-mates face Slovenia. The first leg of the first play-off round takes place on 25 October in Koper, the second leg on 29 October in Ried im Innkreis.

If team boss Irene Fuhrmann's women make it through this round, they will face the winners of the Romania-Poland clash in the play-off final for one of the last seven remaining tickets for the 2025 European Championships in Switzerland. The first leg of this round (27 November) will also be away first, meaning that the potential European Championship party could take place directly in Viola Park.
