After a corner by Markus Suttner, Erik Palmer-Brown brought the ball towards the goal, Gartler cleared (34’). In his own penalty area, the American defender threw himself into a shot by Mateo Barac (40’). Patrick Pentz was still in top form, fending off a header by Maximilian Hofmann and the follow-up shot by Srdjan Grahovac (41’). The first half ended with the 1-1.

The second half also started with some chances. Kara had another chance, after a corner for Rapid Wien, but his shot went over the goal (49’). Patrick Wimmer captured the ball but Gartler saved Benedikt Pichler's finish (51’). Then the “Pentz show” was on again: the number one spectacularly turned a header by Hofmann over the bar (53’). Kara missed from very close range (59’).

Christoph Monschein came for Patrick Wimmer, Dominik Fitz replaced Manprit Sarkaria. The game calmed down in the course of the second half, and Pentz only had to intervene again in the 76th minute, when Marcel Ritzmaier tried with a shot from the far.
