Goalless draw in Altach

Patrick Pentz kept his goal save with nice parades, Austria Wien had several chances to score the winning goal, especially towards the end. But the game ended in a fair draw.

Georg Teigl started in the right midfield instead of Patrick Wimmer, otherwise coach Peter Stöger made no changes in his starting line-up. Matthias Braunöder was in the A-Team squad for the first time.

Alex Pastoor was more willing to make changes and switched on six positions. Anderson, Samuel Oum Gouet, Emanuel Schreiner, debutant Mario Stefel, Johannes Tartarotti and Daniel Nussbaumer were new to the team.

Little going on before the break

Both teams started cautiously, the first shot by Manprit Sarkaria went past the goal (6’). Patrick Pentz was on the spot for a deflected shot from Emanuel Schreiner (18’), Markus Suttner came to a finish after a nice action over several players, but Martin Kobras in Altach’s goal parried the shot (23’). On the other side, Pentz saved a shot by Johannes Tartarotti (41’). A very scattered game without any goals before the halftime break.

Lots of chances, but no goals

Shortly after the break, the ailing Christoph Monschein had to leave the pitch and Bright Edomwonyi took his place. The “Violets” had their first chances, but a free kick by Suttner and a shot by Benedikt Pichler went well over the goal (53’, 56’). In the 59th minute, Patrick Pentz kept the 0-0 by parrying a lob from Daniel Maderner. Alexander Grünwald had a chance after a pass from Pichler but shot over the goal (63’). Manfred Fischer tried a shot from a distance, Pentz fished the ball out of the corner (67’). Pichler prevailed on the left, his cross to Edomwonyi was too imprecise (69’) - the game was now rocking back and forth.

Peter Stöger wanted more and after 70 minutes he brought Patrick Wimmer for Thomas Ebner. Maderner shot past the goal from promising position (72’), Markus Suttner also missed the goal with a free kick (79’). For the final phase, Aleksander Jukić came into the game instead of Georg Teigl, Patrick Wimmer missed after assist by Suttner (87’). Edomwonyi just missed the goal in the 91st minute. Johannes Handl had the last chance of the game, Kobras parried the central defender's header (90’+3’). The duel with Altach ended 0-0.
