International match against Sweden in the new Generali-Arena

Premiere in September! The friendly international match against Sweden on September 6th, 2018 will be played in the new Generali-Arena in Vienna. For the first time, the A-national team will host an international game in Austria Wien’s Stadium at ‘Verteilerkreis’.

The Generali-Arena is about to be completed, has been under construction since June 2016 and will be opened on July 13^th with the game FK Austria Wien - Borussia Dortmund. The stadium seats 15,000 spectators for international games. Information on ticket pre-sale will follow.

After the opening game against Dortmund, this game is another absolute highlight in which numerous current team players, such as captain Julian Baumgartlinger, David Alaba, Heinz Lindner or Aleksandar Dragovic return to their old stadium", says Markus Kraetschmer, CEO of FK Austria Wien.

"For the ÖFB it is very nice to have the new Generali Arena as another high-quality infrastructure as an option for holding international matches. The game against Sweden is the final test for team leader Franco Foda's selection before the start of the UEFA Nations League. Five days after the game against Sweden, on Tuesday, September 11^th, 2018, they have their first away game against Bosnia-Herzegovina. The venue of this encounter is the stadium Bilino Polje in Zenica.
